Welcome to the first post in Arlington’s Appraisal Annex.  This blog will be posting issues surrounding the appraisal of plastics machinery and equipment.  We will be giving insight into what is tending in the used machinery market with up-to-date information on what we see from a “boots on the ground” perspective. Arlington Machinery has been buying and selling used plastic and support equipment since 1987.  That means we’ve seen it all; well maybe not it all, but certainly a lot regarding plastics machinery.

So who is this blog for?

It’s for customers that need an equipment appraisal, are curious about what is going on in the market for used equipment or really want to know how an appraisal can help them. In addition, this blog is for appraisers that are getting ready to inspect equipment, need market information, or need assistance with valuing equipment.

What does Arlington Offer?

We have current and historical information on sales of extrusion, injection molding, recycling, and other disciplines- over 30 years’ worth. This vast database gives us what current machines are actually selling for and what they have historically sold for.  We also have proprietary databases on what machines are selling for new and how machines are selling at auction.  This information is invaluable to valuing equipment.  But that’s not all you get in the Arlington Appraisal Annex.  You also get real world answers, not just theoretical discussions.  We know what people are buying and what they would really spend on equipment.  We know what someone would sell the equipment for and what we would really pay for it.

What will we see in the Future?

We hope to bring you plastics machinery and equipment trends, economic data, interviews with industry insiders, analysis of important auctions, and anything else that could be relevant to creating that plastics appraisal report.
