Arlington Plastics Machinery is getting its hands on a late-model Vecoplan VAZ 1600 shredder that ticks all the boxes when it comes to high-throughput size reduction. Capable of 3,500 LBS/HR according to the manufacturer, this was New in 2022 and installed in 2024, and is only showing 1,651 hours of use.
This is a 62-inch class machine with a 62” x 80” hopper opening, a sizeable 6.4 cubic yard capacity hopper. The rotor is 20" across and 63" long, and spins at 145 RPM. Power-wise, it's a 460-volt setup, with 170.78 Total Amps, complete with PLC controls.
This Late Model VAZ 1600 features a jointed shaft drive with a turbo clutch and the works - conical spur gears, PTC motor overloads, and overload control limit switches with integrated display alarms on the control cabinet. It also has externally adjustable counter knives. Hydraulic swing-up screen carriages with rotatable screens (it's currently set up with a 2-inch screen) - plus it comes with a Vecoplan infeed conveyor.
