Pellet mills take powdered materials and press the material into pellets. Pellet mills are typically flat die mills or ring die mills. Flat die presses utilize a roller to press the powered material through the dies holes and a cutter on the other side of the die cuts the pellets off. Ring die pellet mills introduce the powdered material in the center of a circular die that is then spread evenly over the die and two rollers compress the powder through the holes.Knives on the outside of the die cut the pellets off. Pellet mills will usually have a feeding system and can have a conditioning system prior to the feeding the material into the mill die chamber.
Typical brands include CPM - California Pellet Mill and CME - Colorado Mill Equipment.
