Strand Dies are used at the end of an extruder for producing continuous strands of plastic. These strands are then cut via a pelletizer into uniform cylindrical shapes. These pellets can then be melted to form a final product. The strand die can be either affixed to the extruder itself or to a screen changer that follows the extruder. The important characteristic of the die is the number of holes. This number determines the number of strands that can be produced at once. Another nice feature to have is the replaceable face on the die which allows it to be replaced without having to replace the entire die.
