Baldor Electric Company began in St. Louis in 1920, earning its reputation by building rugged, energy-efficient motors for American manufacturers. Over the years, the company became known for solid engineering and dependable performance, expanding from early induction models to a complete range of industrial drives and mechanical power transmission products. When ABB acquired Baldor in 2011, it brought the brand onto a global stage while keeping the same commitment to quality, performance, and longevity that made Baldor a trusted name for nearly a century.
Today, Baldor produces an extensive selection of AC and DC motors, gearmotors, and variable-speed drives used in plastics processing, manufacturing, and other heavy-duty industries. Baldor builds its motors to run efficiently and hold up under pressure. Each model is made to deliver steady power, cut energy use, and keep production moving with as little downtime as possible. Whether it’s running an extruder, conveyor, or mixer, these motors have a reputation for lasting performance and simple upkeep that operators can count on.
Before any motor leaves our facility, it’s put through a complete hands-on review. Our technicians use a Baldor AT34 Motor Monitor to check insulation, winding balance, current levels, and vibration so we can see exactly how the motor performs. From there, we confirm the nameplate data, run load tests, and inspect bearings and shafts for wear or misalignment. Each of these steps helps us judge both condition and value. With years of field experience and the right diagnostic tools, we make sure every Baldor motor we sell or appraise is proven ready for service.
