Farrel is most well-known for the Banbury Mixer that was introduced in 1916. This was the introduction of internal mixing. Other product lines include two-roll mills, continuous mixers, extruders and pelletizers. Banbury mixers are popular in rubber, plastics and asphalt mixing. Farrel is well know for compounding of simple and complex products. The Farrel Continuous Mixer is used for intensive mixing of rubber and plastics compounds. Some industries using Farrel products include masterbatching of various resins, devolatilization of polyolefins and compounding of rigid/nonrigid PVC.
