Hydraulic Slide plate screen changers are the most common type of screen changer used in the extrusion process. They allow the operator to change screens without stopping the extruder.  Slide plate screen changers can be used independently to filter plastic.  They can also be used as a pre-filter prior to a high-end screen changer like an Ettlinger to prevent damage to the continuous unit.  The price of a used screen changer will vary based on age and condition.  A used screen changer from Arlington Machinery will typically sell for 25% to 50% of new prices.
