Extrusion Dies Inc., or EDI, started with a simple goal: build better flat dies for extrusion lines. Over time, the company became one of the most trusted names in sheet, film, and coating applications. Its dies were known for producing clean, uniform output and for helping processors run more efficiently, with fewer adjustments and tighter tolerances.
In 2012, Nordson Corporation purchased EDI and folded it into its growing line of polymer processing technologies. The merger allowed both companies to combine strengths—EDI’s deep knowledge of die design and Nordson’s expertise in melt delivery, filtration, and control. Today, that partnership continues under the Nordson EDI brand, supplying high-performance dies and components to processors around the world.
At Arlington Machinery, we often work with Nordson EDI equipment on extrusion and sheet lines. Every die that comes through our shop is inspected and appraised to confirm condition and readiness for production. Years of hands-on experience guide our evaluations, so when a customer buys a used EDI system from us, they know it’s been checked, cleaned, and verified by people who understand how these machines need to run.
